Kelly, congratulates rescue swimmers Aviation Warfare Systems Operator 2nd Class Bennie Romiti of Oakland, Calif., right, and Aviation Warfare Systems Operator 2nd Class Jerard Cook of Tacoma, Wash., for their rescue of two Naval Aviators assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron One Zero Two (VFA-102), who were forced to eject from their F/A-18F Super Hornet during an arrested landing aboard the ship. Cook and Romiti are assigned to Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron One Four (HS-14) of Carrier Air Wing Five (CVW-5). Currently under way in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility (AOR), Kitty Hawk demonstrates power projection and sea control as the U.S. Navy's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, operating from Yokosuka, Japan.
