Photo Description:
050207-N-6214F-001Norfolk, Va. (Feb. 7, 2005) - Damage Controlman 2nd Class Devon Williams, right, and a Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) inspector checks a Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). Every three to five years, INSURV inspectors visit the ship to conduct scheduled material inspections. These inspections determine if the ship is fit for service and identify material conditions that might limit a ship's ability to conduct assigned missions. The results are sent to the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) for review. Iwo Jima is currently homeported in Norfolk, Va. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 1st Class Robert J. Fluegel (RELEASED)
